Success story

Presentation Secondary School, Listowel student wins Engineers Ireland Level 8 Innovative Award for 2011
Monday 19th September 2011
Fiona Griffin who is a past student from Presentation Secondary School, Listowel and now studying in NUI Galway has won first prize in the Engineers Ireland Level 8 Innovative Student Engineer Award 2011 sponsored by Siemens, for her innovative design for a revolutionary heart valve.
Fiona’s project was based on a 3D model of the mitral valve, a key valve in the heart, designed to facilitate treatments in the cardiac area.
